We are pleased to announce new land in the heart of Leicestershire
The metal detecting event includes:
Nearly 130 acres of land. Toilets, Parking, Catering


The Midlands Federation of Metal Detector Clubs has once again agreed to organise a metal detecting event on behalf of Rotary. The land secured for this event is rich in history and is new undetected land adjacent to the famous Roman road, the Watling Street. The land we have available covers approximately 130 acres of previously undetected arable farmland. Places on this event will be eagerly sought after and will be offered on a first come first served basis. We are expecting a large demand so it is recommended that you secure your place now by applying for a ticket. On the day, a catering facility will be available serving tea, coffee, burgers and hot dogs etc. Limited toilet facilities will be available. Ample car parking will also be available. A raffle will be available on the day

The exact location is being kept secret at the moment to ensure that everyone booking a ticket has an equal opportunity to detect on the day. All we are prepared to say is that the location is in Leicestershire and easily accessible from the motorway system and the A5. This promising site will be available in the Midlands area on Sunday September 6th 2015. All proceeds from this year’s event will be for Rotary’s chosen charity which this year will be Hope Against Cancer. As usual, all proceeds from this event will go towards this very worthy cause.

In order to secure a place at this event all you need do is send a £15 cheque or postal order (NO CASH) made out to:-

John Wells, at 78 Watersmeet Road, Wyken, Coventry, CV2 3HT and include a STAMPED ADDRESSED ENVELOPE your NCMD/FID membership number and a CONTACTABLE E-MAIL ADDRESS.

A current NCMD/FID membership insurance card for 2015 is required by all attendees. This is essential as the estate owner will require all attendees to be adequately insured. Please quote your membership number when booking. You will be required to show your membership card on the day when registering. The deadline for pre-booked tickets is Saturday 29th August 2015. For security reasons details of the site location will be sent to you by email in the week preceding the event.
